International pop sensation Shakira has announced plans for a 2010 global world tour – which will kick off with the singer’s return to North America.
Shakira is also expected to take the stage at London’s legendary Glastonbury Festival and Rock In Rio in Lisbon and Madrid.
The summer tour will be produced by Live Nation and will include performances at New York’s Madison Square Garden on September 21st, Houston’s Toyota Center.
On October 8th, and the Staples Center in Los Angeles on October 23rd. The touring schedule will include stops.
At top arenas and a host of additional cities throughout the summer and fall with additional dates to be announced soon. Tickets for Shakira go on sale in select markets beginning May 7th at LiveNation.com. To ensure affordability for all of her fans, Shakira is offering a limited quantity of tickets priced at $9.50 in select markets.
Shakira Fan Club members will have exclusive access to presale tickets beginning Monday, May 3rd at 12noon local time. Additional fan club information is available at Shakira.com. Citi cardmembers will also have access to presale tickets beginning Tuesday, May 4th at 10 am local time through Citi's Private Pass Program.
This will mark Shakira’s third tour of United States (first in 2002 for the “Tour of the Mongoose” and again in 2006 for the “Oral Fixation”), and promises to bring the singer’s sensual rhythms and deliciously unpredictable spirit. It has also been described as promising to push the limits of the live concert experience - bringing fans a pulsating spectacle crossing all musical boundaries.
