Colombian singer Shakira is to perform at the MTV Latin America Awards on 15 October, but from Bogota. Although the live broadcast of the event will be held on Thursday 15 October, some of the show will be prerecorded, with local awards being held in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles and Bogota.

Shakira, who is launching her new album She Wolf, will be in Bogota from Sunday 11 October to prepare for the show, reports music news website Vive.in. Nelly Furtado and Residente from band Calle 13 will host the event, which will be broadcast on MTV Latin America and MTV Tr3s in the United States.
