I think that nothing else in life, not even your career or music — well, what I’m saying is a bold statement — I think that nothing can substitute love as the propelling force of everyone’s lives.It’s number one on my list of priorities, of course.” Shakira wrote three songs for Love in the Time of Cholera. The movie, which tells the story of a 50-year love triangle during the late 19th century, is based on the novel by Columbian writer Gabriel García Márquez.Her performance raised money for her Fundación Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet Foundation), which promotes educational development in Colombia.
